Ugochukwu Ezeji, in a few words, describes himself as ‘just above average height and a determined person’. Ugochukwu attended his first work placement through Access Aspiration in 2013 whilst in Year 12 at London Academy. Ugo’s placement was with shoe designer Kat Maconie Ltd because of his interest in handcrafted accessories. After being impressed by Ugo’s creative designs, Kat Maconie offered him a job as an accessories designer where he then made handcrafted bead keychains.
Since leaving the Access programme Ugo has attended 11 Downing Street twice as a speaker and the House of Commons as an ambassador for the charity. Ugo is currently in the process of starting up a handcrafting online business before he graduates with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham.
On being Access Alumni: “I believe that no opportunity is a waste of time and you never know where it might lead, so have faith and join Access Aspiration, I promise you won’t regret it.”
